I have looked at both of those (cibola, silver umax) but the price is fairly close to the Vaq. and i figured since neither have manual gb , then i didn't want to spend that much.

Thanks for the kind words , it is me..Its pretty dorky but it gets the point across. Thats funny you say that, I went to school for radio 20 years ago and never got into it.lol.

You are right it does not have a GB. I understand wanting gb. I finally got a tiger shark and the 2nd time out forgot to even gb, it worked fine anyway..

I have owned many different VLF detectors mostly Tesoro's and in my experience the detectors with the manual ground balance seem to work the best for me, so much so, that I would never even consider buying another detector without it.
