Question about update 1.17

I have not used my detector in almost a year due to a hip replacement in January 2024 and having that same hip replaced January 2025 to include a femur fracture, needless to say the past several months have been an ordeal. Back in the fall even though I was unable to detect I did the update to 1.17. I live near Clearwater Fl and know that my detecting will be limited to the beaches now. My doctor has given me permission to hunt the sand as long as I feel stable with my scoop as a cane. As far as V1.17 goes is there anything I need to do other than factory defaults and beach mode? I have had my Legend for around three years but never had the opportunity to really get out much and learn the machine, and actually feel overwhelmed at times with this being my first multi frequency unit. Any recommendations or tips will be greatly appreciated.

Great detector but it can be overwhelming. Practice at home with the strings until you’re very familiar with them before getting out. Keep the pre-set settings and add your own into the memory slots in case they’re not working for the location.

Finally got around to updating it to the current 1.17 and it’s the best thing I’ve done since I bought my detector. There are a few changes and some additional functions that will help you a lot.
I would recommend watching a few videos to get the hang of using the new functions and applying what you learn in the field. I was really impressed with the results vs. using my old version. Detect at your own pace and don’t over do it. Have not posted anything very recent, took a bad fall and still recovering but getting better every day.
