A couple years ago, my other half bought a few tomato plants. I got one decent harvest out of them (the kids kept picking the tomatoes and eating them), with about 7 lbs of tomatoes. I made some spaghetti sauce with them. It was pretty good, for not having a recipe, and tasted almost exactly like what we buy in a jar.

Homemade sauce is good and it varies according to the individual taste. Simplicity is the key to good taste, I like to use just a few types of herbs, garlic and onion. To many herb types will muddy the taste.
