Pull tabs: I've been thinking.....

When I go to the beaches, and other recreation areas I make it a point to let people there know that I AM COLLECTING PULL TABS. By the end of the day or when I leave people and their kids seem to have been helping me. Most all seem to help.I leave the beach with a bag full. Last year I had a Trash can full of the little critters. I give them to a friend who says she turns them in for medical things, not sure.

Hi Waterdog; Thats great. I hope she gets all she needs.!!! briley59: You still have not said anything about those questions I asked. Will you take thjem if wwe ship to you??? OR Will you let us know where the McDonald House's are.?? I mean this in a nice way.I will try to find one near me as well. OK?? PEACE:RONB

Ron,
I have been on the road all day and just got internet service. The McDonalds house will take them in one gallon milk jugs. I will find out of there is a special place to send as I give them to my daughter who's son was involved and she get them to the correct place. I will find out where that is and let everyone know. She is actually on the road coming to me at the moment and I can ask her and let everyone else know. My wife and I dinate directly to them and let here send the tabs. The answer to your question is if there is anyway I will help with the project should any desire to do so. I sent you an e-mail earlier Ron and explained I am a split resident person but I do have and office with several employees who will assit with this. My office has one office empty and several stalls we have never used other than storage and would gladly utilize for any help. Let me speak with my daughter when she arrives and I will advise my findings. I think you would need to get them in gallon jugs for delivery. I know my daughter uses milk jugs for hers.

Hi briley59; I'm sorry if I came across the wrong way that was not my intent.I do know your a busy guy and I appreciate it. I did not want it to encroach on yours or anyone elses work or company. I'm wondering if we can send them directly to them in a cleaned condition.A suggestion may be to have the tabs sent in 5 gallon pails but I guess if they want only 1 gallon jugs then that can be done to. My curiousity is : What does a 1 Gallon Jug of pulltabs weigh?? Maybe we could ship it by weight. Just a thought. :nerd: Anyway I await your reply. Thanks. PEACE:RONB :please:

I really do not know as I have never shipped or taken one. I do know it takes a lot to make one gallon and it is not light. Let's wait and see if the daughter can shed more light on this.
I read e-mail before getting into forum and did not understand message sent originally but do now. As far a busy me? No, I am retired since my heart incident and was on the road for doctors follow up and nothing more. I full time MD for 4-5 hours a day and have shed 15 pounds in since the first of the year doing so. Tha was my total intent when starting however the bug did hit and I do it for excitement at the present and hope to continue to for years to come. So Ron, I am never to busy for anything or anybody and will not step in that world again. I have been there and have scars to show for it.
As for the office they will do whatever they are told and I do not mean to sound hard or overbearing but the people who work for me are good people and care and know what good it does so they would out of caring more than anything else.

Hi briley59; GREEEEEEAT!!!!!!!! I appreciate your hard work. I also await your replies. The suspense is killing me so to speak. PEACE:RONB
I just saw the ball and ran with it. What a ball.!!!!:super:

Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd put my two cents, (pulltabs) in. I've only been detecting for 2 mo's and am already painfully aware of the sick trick the universe has played on us with pulltabs mimicking nickels and rings. Just when I'm ready to start complaining about this "major inconvenience" someone comes along ( thanks briley59 ) and gives me a major reality check. I've raised, and am raising, three (thankfully ) healthy children by myself and realize that they are the only true treasure that I'll have in my life. I have tried to turn my hard work as a professional pull tab harvester into something positive and humorous though. First, I've hung a square tab on my key chain just to laugh (instead of cry) at the irony every time I look at it. Secondly, I have been saving ALL of my pull tabs and was planning on melting them down at some future date to make into something ( medallion ?) for my younger daughter. After hearing of the McD House program on this forum, I have reconsidered that. Can anyone please give me some details on the McD House program to benefit children ? What types of tabs ?, Where to send/donate them ? etc. If anyone has a link or some info to assist me in putting these things to a good use I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks to all.
HH

The house in Atlanta still accepts and the address is 795 Gatewood Dr Atlanta, Ga. 30329. we called this morning as some told they were no longer accepting and spoke with Lynn. no need to send attention of her as it will get there anyway. Thank you. I also have two healthy children but the grandson was special for us. Thanks
