Prototype SS Beach Scoop

Hi Freddy,

For right now we are just trying to get this first scoop out. There maybe other versions later but for now ti will be just the one design. The handle on this scoop is already 6" back from the front of the blade. THe scoop is made from #304 Stainless. The handle is 48" long. I did think about making a bend near the top to make it easier to reach when digging the really deep targets but decided against it for now. A heavy scoop like yours is fine in the water as you said but this scoop is being made so it can be used in the water, on the wet sand, as well as in the dry sand so weight does become an issue.I will keep your suggestions in mind. Thanks for Posting!

Beachcomber

Looks like you have addressed all of the problems that we face here at the shore when it comes to heavy use in shallow surf and wet salt sand....and I see that the key is keeping one's foot from making contact with the i/2 inch mesh when digging into the sand on retieval of a target. I just sent 2 of my mesh scoops back to treasure coast scoops for repair .....good luck.....Brian

G'day Beachcomber,
Thanks for the response back on the scoop.
At what angle is your handle set off the bucket -degrees ?
Cant wait till you get up & running producing these scoops!
And I think all would agree.Your on a winner there beachcomber congrats.
I also emailed, your scoop to our Major Detector store in Victoria, Australia Called
Miners Den, who also have outlets in other states of Aust, & all Aussies here will know the name for sure.
They seemed very impressed with the design,& would be interested in selling your scoops in the shop, Now that all depends on final price & shipping to Australia as a over sized item,& approx 6lbs.
But they would want bulk orders of them, (lot of 5) or 10 qty.
So hopefully we will see your scoop working "Down Under" after All

Cheers Freddy :ausflag:
