I purchased my first explorer II in March. So far it has been going great. I am finding deeper targets than with my older detector. I in most cases have been using the iron mask mode set to around -6 and in advance and deep. I usually dig all targets with in this range and above similiar to my old detector. I admit I dig alot of trash but i have the time and have found a lot of good things. My problem is that I like to find horse shoes but the explorer II descriminates that target where I have it set to -6. I had to go all the way to - 16 before it would pick up the horse shoe. So I then learned the horse shoe with the small box in the iron mask mode pattern set at -6 and then saved it. I then tried to use it and noticed that it was picking up all kinds of nails. This is the big problem , it was sounding way to much. So then I went back to edit or learn and tried to remove the nail. I was using the small box when removing the nail. Once I was finished I tested it and I then not only removed the nail but also the horse shoe. What do I need to do to do this right? I want to find horse shoes or other large iron objects but not the nails.???? My old detector was set to about the edge of foil and pull tab and nickle range. Any time I would pass over a large iron objet it would give me a false reading of 1 to 10 cents range. I liked that because then i would find those horse shoes. I would like to add, that "regaurdless if it can't be done" the explorer II is better than my old detector and I will continue to master the new detector. Please help...... Thanks Larry
