I know I don't have to ask because you are all praying for Brian already, but there has been a new development I wanted you to pray for.
Brian is having great difficulty breathing at night because his nasal passages are blocked, presumably from the tumors which appear to have grown back very quickly. Therefore, he cannot get a good nights rest causing him to fall asleep in school. His pediatrician said that it is very urgent that we get something done immediately because the lack of oxygen can damage his lungs and the right side of his heart over time.
We will attempt to contact Vanderbilt Hospital tomorrow to schedule some sort of surgery, either the trach or another tumor surgery to clear the nasal passages. His breathing is very labored at night and he stops breathing sometimes for 10-20 seconds. At the doctors office yesterday Brian fell asleep sitting up and started snoring so the doctor got to see first hand how hard it is for him to sleep.
Pray we don't have to have a trach done. It is tough enough that he has to wear braces and use a cane to walk and the tracheotomy tube sticking out of his neck will really be a psychological blow to him.
God bless all of you and....THANKS!!
