Hey there padiggin, I do know how electricity works but it would take me along time to explain it. Once you understand ohm's law you get a good understanding for it. I have worked with electricity residental and electronics for many years and it is something that you either love or hate. Steve.

I just have to laugh and bite my tongue when you know who comes up with all these "ideas" with no knowledge what so ever.
 
OHM'S LAW THE HIGHER THE VOLTS(POTENTIAL) THE HIGHER THE AMP FLOW,DONE DEAL GET OVER IT,GO TO A BOOK! STOP CRITICIZING,WHATS GOING ON HERE,I HAVE NOTHING TO PROVE OR HIDE.CAN WE ALL JUST GET ALONG.CHARLES.

You have a Regulator in all Tesoro Detectors, otherwise the power in a small battery would be useless in 20 Min's or so, try a battery 7volts, try your battery you will find Voltage in this case due to the Voltage regulator counts for nothing, i mean extra depth etc etc.

Actually volts has very little to do with amp flow, resistance has more to do with it. Steve.
