GOT MORE DEPTH WITH THIS NEW BATTERY!VQ ALMOST DID NOT WANT TO STOP BEEPING ON BATTERY TEST!!!,ULTRA HIGH CAPACITY,RAPID RECHARGE,TRUE 9.6VOLTS,RECHARGE UP TO 1000 TIMES,MEMORY FREE OPERATION,LOW IMPEDANCE BATTERY DESIGN,COMBINE THIS WITH A SOLAR CHARGER AND YOU WON'T NEED TO PAY THE LIGHT BILL!!!,THANKS BATTERYS PLUS FOR SETTING ME AND MY VQ FREE.Chuck Of Charleston,SC.

I am sure that these are good batteries but more depth - no way (unless your battery was almost dead). Detectors use a voltage regulator, lets say for example that the output of the voltage regulator is 4.8 volts. I don't care if the battery is 9.6 volts 9 volts or 109 volts, the voltage regulator is only going to put out 4.8 volts (or whatever the output voltage is). I am no pro but have been working with electronics for over 30 years & do know this much :). I can buy a 9 volt alkaline battery pretty cheap and it runs my Tesoro for days and days and days, no need for a solar panel with mine. Steve.

Try it yourself hot shot,it worked for me,my other battery checked good, big deal forget it then, keep polluting,I probably will not throw this battery in the trash for another year, what are you thinking SKIWHIZ!.

Whats up with the "hot shot" tag in there? skiwhiz made a good point, I'm sure Tesoro regulates voltage, otherwise performance would suffer when voltage gets low. I run the Cortes batteries pretty darn low before tossing them into the nearest stream.
Show the love bro.:cheekkiss:

Its no problem, I am no trying to cut Chuck down I am merely stating what is fact. I could say that I put a dab of red finger nail polish on the middle of my coil and got more depth. Believe it or not some folks would go get some red finger nail polish and give it a try and say wow this does really work. I took no offense in his statement, I have been detecting for almost 30 years and been working with electronics all my life so I know whats what pretty much. Steve or you can call me Hot Shot (I kinda like the sound of that, lol.) Steve.

Hay SKIWHIZ everyones worked WITH electronics there whole lives, leave the answers the ones that work ON Electronics!Guy's try to do the right thing, and think about what you are doing concering batteries,by thowing all those alk batteries in the trash,do you really think you are acting responsible! maybe you should stick with skiing WHIZ KID!.

Kid you say, thanks for the compliment. Actually I am 48 years young. I didn't mean that I work around electronics I meant that I have worked with electronics my whole life. Enough said I don't have to prove myself. You are right Chuck there is nothing wrong with inventions or modifications, it is just that I think that Tesoro has done everything right and don't need any improvements. Don't take this the wrong way but have you posted such ideas on White's/Minelab/Garrett/etc. forums and get good feedback. Steve.

YAA,THANKS,NEED THE MEADIATOR TO FIND OUT IF I CAN SELL ANOTHER DETECTOR,THATS THE ONLY FORUM I NEED CLASSIFIEDS,IT AIN'T NO TESORO EITHER,GUESS WHAT BRAND!I KNOW WHAT I AM STICKING WITH.NOT CONFUSED.!Chucky.

Hey Chucky - some of us don't buy into the environmental wacko movement - I for one prefer to keep using ak batteries. Skiwhiz.

The Vaq as stated works at just over 6 volts switched on in the machine,if you had a super dooper battery, say 50volts( And Please don't try this you will blow your machine up) apart from an increase in depth if the coil could handle the 50 volts, the noise from ground minerals would be much greater,we are talking a trade off here, think about it for a micro second, you are trying to reinvent Physics will a small battery, that's been around for years ?????

Dave/Holey Dollar

ya,the higher potential-volts the higher the amp flow, naturaly,if you let your batt drain to 6 volts the potential for currant flow, will not be of what the amp flow will be at 9.6v.so 9.6v.will run better than just 6 due to the potential for AMP flow.do any of you really no how electricity WORKS.Chucky.

Don't be cutting us down and asking us if we are responsible for throwing away those alkaline batteries. What do you want me to do, go out and find a solar powered flashlight; mouse; battery operated toys; etc. Most devices that do not use a power cord use batteries, the best batteries for most devices are alkaline. When a manufacturer recommends alkaline batteries that is what I will use. As being irresponsible for throwing away the alkaline batteries, which I do, I fee no more guilt from throwing them away than I would feel for throwing away a plastic soda bottle, milk container, aluminum can which will last for thousands of years.

I am going to leave this forum for a while, to much nutty talk.

What happened to the great code of ethic's detectorist are to uphold, think about what you are saying, you are really looking good to new comers to the hobby.Chucky.
