I could have swore there was a post yesterday called are we ignorant.. or something like that where we were discussing the differences between high and low dollar machines. Am I missing it or was it deleted for some reason? I did not see anyone name calling or anything out of the way. Just curious.

Yeah it's gone. Too bad, because it was a very civil discussion highlighting why a variety of different machines are appropriate for the different goals that people have. We don't all detect for the same reasons but what we all do have in common is that we all want to have our version of fun doing it.
It was a good thread then got to running dark...took on a whole life of its own, knife fights broke out, a shooting in the parking lot, somebody pushed over the juke box, lots of puke in the mens room...not surprised it was deleted, just like any good party, theres a time to leave!

Oh well move on.There was some great pictures of big gold found that was great to see and read...it got to the point where it was an unprofitable discussion with little usage or advice to the readers...no biggie, it was entertaining to me, I have great respect for the detecting skills of all posters that took part, and was just there as an observer to maybe hold some guys coat, and learn a thing or two..I could see it was probably pushing the envelope, but like any good train wreck, all a guy could do is stand back and watch! so the Mod had to step in. Been guilty of getting dumped a time or two myself in the heat of a discussion! It was something that would have been great to watch sitting around a campfire or someplace where we could all get rough with each other! 
Suffice to say the Tesoro users are one rabid brand loyal bunch! Ignorant? No..Passionate? YES!

God forbid we have free thinkers in this world. I've never seen a forum with such a "power" issue in my life. Pretty sad existence for someone.

Wouldn't surprise me, and to be honest I couldn't care less. Plenty of other forums around. I don't like when people are silenced for differing opinions. I've seen posts deleted on here simply because someone gave a negative review of a product. Shouldn't we as customers of these products be allowed to read the good as well as the bad to make an informed decision on a particular product?
Yes we should and that is why I am confused as to why it was deleted, no one was bashing another machine or getting ugly, just good conversation about the differences in machines. That was the reason I originally joined this forum was to get opinions on different detectors and good hunting tips, I guess we can at least have the latter.

I am a bit disgruntled about it as we'll. I started the thread with the genuine interest of being enlightened on a subject that I know very little about, (high dollar machine value in the field vs. traditional analog or mid level Tesoro low cost machines).
I watched the the thread till the end where it turned sour. Sic.
Was a great thread though, I would have read it over and over for the next year.
From all the posts and threads that have been deleted here, I feel that was one thread that truly deserved to stay! It was good.
