Planning a trip round the Mediterranean, any good spots?

Hi guys, I am thinking of doing a trip round the med detecting in a van next year, and I am just starting to plan a rough route. Can anyone please suggest any beaches that are good for wading, where they have had good results? If anyone has good tips or advice about local spots, parking up, places to hang out etc I would be very grateful.
I am starting out from devon, driving to France, and down to the med. I will do regular updates from the trip, posting finds and stories from along the way, so it should make intresting reading. Cheers for now, water wizard

Thanks Fongu, it's been my best winter hunting ever. All of the gold was found wading. I can't wait till November, I'm going to hit it hard this winter thinking about buying an underwater pin pointer... Not sure if it will help or not?
