Pirate Gift

Sunday morning who should knock on my front door but my treasure hunting mate, Lee. I was a little foggy from the previous night's party and the fact that the clocks had sprung ahead by an hour didn't help either - still in all I was happy to see a fellow surf pirate. I got Lee a mug of joe and he produced a large basket full of loot that he didn't want so he was giving it to me as a gift. Lee is leaving Bermuda this month to get married to his lovely bride-to-be Susan and so he was cleaning house and as his brother pirate I was gifted with a pile of clad and some silver.

The loot was in the same state as lee had found it because he doesn't have a tumbler to clean up his finds. I do have a tumbler and that's what I have been doing since Sunday, tumbling nasty old clad and silver bits and bobs in my single tumbler. It cleaned up pretty nicely.

The clad came to a little less than $200, plus a few ounces of silver. Now that's what I call a Good Mate!:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks Lee and Best of Luck on Your Next Adventure,

BDA:cool:

PS: I couldn't very well let Lee leave my house empty handed and all the rum had been consumed at last nights party so I gave Lee my brand new waterproof pinpointer. I hope he'll be able to put it to good use finding gold nuggets in the streams of Georgia, where Lee and Susan will be making their new home.

Very generous of your friend.
I guess you'll be looking for a new pirate to dig with !

It is great BDA to have a mate that thinks enough of you to give you his bootie.
When you find the right person, marriage is the greatest institution you can have.
Best wishes for all the best to Lee and his new wife. Thanks for sharing this story
and the pictures. Gold Nuggets :wiggle:

There are so few surf pirates in Bermuda that I am used to hunting alone but it has been fun having someone to hunt with, especially a great guy like Lee.

Soon it will back to my solo routine and as much as I like the solitude of my hunts, Lee will be missed.

Cheers Ya Looter,

BDA:cool:

It's really great when you can find a hunting buddy like that!

Great post and thanks for sharing too!:beers:

All the best!

A good mate and a great pal.

Never heard of a waterproof pinpointer... You do not actually take it into the water do you?

Calm seas

Micheal

It is truly friend who shares not only thier time, but things of value of the world and do so unselfishly. Lee sounds like a great friend.

Not the sort of thing you want to have hanging off your belt when you walk up to a bunch of college co-eds (it says VIBRAPROBE in large letters down the side) but it works very well underwater. The on/off switch is internal (point it up and it turns on, after 30 seconds of not detecting anything it turns itself off). I think it would be handy for working in tight spaces, so Lee should have some luck checking cracks in the rocks in gold streams for nuggets. It's a PI unit and quite sensitive to small gold.

Hi bda; Happy for your gain. Sorry for your loss. Best wishes to Lee & Susan. May thier future be truly Golden. PEACE:RONB

Flashback to day before this happened, Lee's bride to be..." You're not taking that crap are you??? , it's all sandy and nasty. Give that stuff to that guy that you used to do stuff with, but thatI will never allow again!!! and then come straight back here, I have a list of stuff for you to do!!"
JUST KIDDING, that was a very nice gesture of both of you guys, she must really be a keeper to get him out of Bermuda with all the nice scenary, weather, girls and treasure hunting. Good luck to you all.
