It took me about 3 hours to finally get this video on youtube. I hope some people can understand what I'm talking about. Let me know how you like it? I used the lowest image quality I could and it looks like it might run a little slow. Sorry

Thanks! After 3 hours of trying to get the video to run I have a lot to learn. I would like to make a real nice vid explaining even more tips. I was rushing a little because I was using a camera and there wasn't a lot of memory left. Did the vid play OK for you? Was it slow?

took a LONG time to load, but that is not your fauly, youtube is probably just running slow now. One suggestion, it was very hard to hear what you were saying, not sure if it was the wind or the detector beeps. I had my volume up all the way. But the video is GOOD and very helpful, thanks. I feel like you made it for me!

I just hate to see new hunters getting frustrated with pinpointing. I know they don't want to dig 12 inch holes! I needed to see if I could produce a vid anyway. If it helps you in any way then that's great. It was windy but when I listen with my phones on O can hear all but about 2 words when the wind comes up. I will do another vid on a calmer day. I guess I need to get one of those fancy digital camcorders?

Thanks for the video as well. I just got my ace 250 last week and have been having the same pinpointing problem. I can't wait to try out your tips when the weather gets a little nicer

It's really nothing new. I used concentric coils for 22 years. Then I purchased a 250. As you know it has an elliptical coil. For the first 6 months I was pinpointing in the center of the coil. Then I started using the method shown in the video. I too learned how from this forum.

I have to give my thanks to John, Bill and others.
So all I'm doing is passing the knowledge on in this little video. Good luck!

I can think of a few times I re dug someones hole to find a goody. The last time was a hole my brother dug. He was using a CZ5 and dug about 7 inches down in his yard. He thought it was a deep rusty iron. So he covered it up. I ran my coil over the hole as I walked by. It sounded good to me. Bell tone and repeatable. I dug out a deep Wheatie. My brother just shook his head.

Thanks a lot for the vid. Very helpful. I wonder who shot those picts of me at the beach? HAHA Keep up the good work guys and gals.

Really good video and it will be helpful to many. Whoever has the power to "Pin", is it Uncle Willy, messages to the top of the forum should create a message with both the .jpeg how to pinpoint (I think it's John in Edmonton's but I can't recall exactly) and your video. When somebody new shows up it will be a lot easier directing them this way. I wish you had dug that target. I need a fix bad...................

Chris

I thought about digging the target but it was in my test garden! Plus my memory card was running out!

What was it? I gotta know!

Chris

I know. It was a quarter.

I didn't dig it because it's in my test garden. It's a copper cent. My coins have been in the ground for about 7 years so I'm leaving them there for test purposes. Maybe I'll make a vid on some real hunts? The only problem is I dig most everything and watching me dig 25 pull tabs would bore most people. I popped out a 1953 Franklin Half and ornate silver spoon last week. They were both about 7 inches deep. I was thinking then if I only got that on film!
What I don't like about some detecting videos is they show you a hole already dug. Then reach in and pull out a coin. I think people should know the process of why the hole was even dug in the first place. Like tones, target size, TID, depth, pinpointing and hunting location. Then dig the hole. To me this is the real challenge.

Great job Khouse . I saw it first on Treasurenet Garrett Forum. That should answer a couple of peoples questions, especially for the visual learners

Hi Kenny,
Nice job there. That'll be a great help for the newbies.
Ya got my vote on that one.
I've been off line for a few weeks with major computer probs, but all sorted now.
It's nice to be back.
