while I'm taking my two week rest to heal up a bit... we haven't had rain in well over a week, and no rain expected for the next week and temps in the 90's... I can handle the heat, but this SC ground is like concrete right now. at this point gonna need a few days of steady rain to loosen up the ground enough to retrieve anything. reminds me of being in WNY in January and having a sunny 15 deg day .. I would grab my detector and get a great signal, but couldn't get an inch into the ground... my rest period may be extended... if this drought continues...

I was asked to look for a wedding band. MIDDLE school student was wearing hie deceased dads wedding band. I HAVE only dug shallow targets as the ground is extremely hard. So far no luck after a number of hours searching. HAVE had two others help me search. Of course i wonder if she actually lost the ring there or was it where she discovered it missing.

It would have been easily found unless grass or weeds were tall--need to ask the student body, if anyone has found a ring lately, or if they did or do that it belongs to the one who lost it--a precious family memento should not be worn how it could be easily lost; especially, that which is a male adult ring being too large for a teen daughter or son to wear comfortly! So sad if not recovered & hope she didn't take it without permission, as it would be even worse for her mother's loss in memory of her husband! Prayers for it being found by God's Holy Ghost guidance; otherwise a hurtful lesson learned! Ma

George, the only other reasonable storyline is the kid pawned the ring for cash and trying to cover it by saying he lost it. I know I play Devils advocate but 35 yrs being a cop has proved me to be right on several occasions. Just keep what I suggest in mind. It also wouldn’t surprise me if some other kid found it and knew it had worth......

She is quite upset that she lost the ring. Too young to have pawned it. Her daddy was a doper but she loved him.

Hopefully, she has learned a lesson the hard way --Do not take other people's Jewelry without permission with the chance of losing it while in their possession--especailly, of a loved one who has passed away! May she ask forgiveness & forgive herself--the young make mistakes but should learn from their mistakes, as well as we all should! Ma
