By caramba, reading these posts I will definitely be sticking to detecting in the rest of the world and leave the US to you guys.

The best advice I've read here is the bear pepper spray,because if my life was threatened the more power the the better.I cant see a digging tool being of any use if the bad guy is packing.I'm not against packing a firearm,i am an avid hunter and almost always have a rifle in my truck.If i was put into a situating were it's me or the other guy,well i think it's going to be the other guy! Dead men don't talk and i would walk.As they say when seconds count the cops are just minutes away.

I carry a glock 21 45 acp 14hrs a day I pray every night I never have to use it But if I do I pray I never hesitate . It easy to say you would shoot with no regrets , But that's not the case . A friend of mine Has twice had to shoot someone . and no matter how right you were are how you buddies tell you you did the right thing .You know in your heart and mine that was someones kid , dad , husband ,ect. and you never forget that .That's why we have mandatory counseling anytime we are involved in a shooting .So do what you have to do but be ready for the aftermath. and please don't hesitate. guilt is much better than a funeral. if only one goes home at night make sure its you. Ps I also carry a 9mm all the time at work anywhere else i go

I live in Texas .everyone has a gun they come with your birth certificate . Real life I'm am a police . before that a corrections officer at a max unit .so when your at wal mart and someone says hey boss theres a little paranoia . We also know when we are on a call or make a stop the ones we are after know way before we do that they intend to shoot us .have to stay ready.

these days it's smart to carry if you can!..lot of pissed off people out there!..if you are "confronted" and your personal safety is at risk,do you think anyone will help you?..you have to take responsibility for your own welfare!..if you do not,then you only have yourself to blame!
