I enjoy seeing what others are finding and any information they can share about how and where it is found. The last thing I want to do is to try to read between the lines of someones post to try to decide if it is legit or not. We all have better things than that to do. When someone posts an "almost" unbelievable hunt and the finds, I want to know it's true. That's what gives us hunters the incentive to press on.

And that's the thing about cheating, faking finds, what's the fun in that? This is a great hobby in its own simple right. Fun, challenging and rewarding, but not if one is faking finds. HH jim tn

The videos posted on Utube on explaining how a detector works, it's features are very informative. But the videos which show someone or a couple that continually go out week after week and find rare silver, well, I leave it to you to believe or not. Some of the most entertaining films I've seen were by people with not a lot of experience. Usually beach hunting. Skimpy swim suits get more clicks than the finds.

Between the heat and the gnats it has been a long time since I even had the urge to brag. Dishonesty never occurred to me about what you guys are discussing. It's a lot like "stolen valor" but not quite as bad---to me. What's the point? A moment of fame? More like a moment of disgrace.

He won't so that. The dude is a coward and made his videos private when he was outed. He then turned off comments and continued on like nothing happened. He made a point to bring it up but danced around it and said something like I'll address all of that. He apologized for people posting on his YouTube but doesn't apologize for being a dirtbag planter
