I thought id live a note just to see who is hunting the beaches around Patrick AF Base here in Fl. We are hear for the winter and about to move our RV over to the base. I know its not too far from the cape... is the area restricted in any way? Is there anyone who wants to do some diggen... drop me a note.

Is the area restricted? Somewhere along there you cant dig and the base is out on a barrier island isnt it? Dont want to dig on a National sea barrier. We have ben out to the base last year just to check it out. GREAT location.

I'm up between Cocoa and Titusville. I usually go to Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral, but have been just south of PAFB. When I was south of Patrick, a couple of USAF security police rode by on 4 wheelers and didn't say a thing. I don't think there's any restrictions on any of the beaches from the Canaveral jetties to the Sebastian jetties.

Just checking because sometimes there is a National Seashore. I know there is a beach just across from the Base. Any good spots you can recommend? Im used to hunting more north around St Augustine. I know everyone seems a little protective of their spots. But ive been detecting a day or two so i just like to do it and dont care about hunting behind anyone.... we cant get it all. Its like fishing to me.... you learn the techniques that make you a better fisherman and learn patience and just enjoy the time.

I'm new to this hobby, so haven't found my favorite spot yet. I'd just try to find a place where a lot of people go. I don't think you'll have any problem anywhere near Patrick.

Thats the trick crgator. Ive been at this about 15 years sometimes its easier to ask those that are in the area. Its always nice to have someone to hunt with. There is a lot of history that the local hunter knows and most are willing to hunt an tell you about it. You learn a great deal... as well as get in some detecting.
