Park hunt with the modified trashy park program

Bill_S

Well-known member
I took the trashy park program and opened up the bottom half and then ran it in TTF. I was trying to find targets hidden in or by the iron.

Love the video, it was one of the more informative videos I have seen.

Thanks for making it and posting it.

Very informative, plus I always like it when someone shows the screen instead of just talking about it. Good Video!

Ecxellent Video, thank you for all this instrutions. when ever you have one of dip silver please put it on too.
thank you!

Wow that was a great tutorial! It really gives confirmation to so many experiences that I have had with the E-trac. Now all I have to do is go back to where I ignored all those masked signals and see what I missed the first time.

I noticed that most of your finds were within 4-5" deep using the smaller coil. Would you say that was the limit for the dry soil conditions you have there or just the limit of the coil itself? The dirt reminds me of the freshly ploughed field effect that I read alot about and how the etrac doesn't like aerated soils. In fact, your video provides quite a bit of insight into the idea of very dry soil conditions and how they affect target identification and depth.

Anyone else have any insight into very dry soil conditions in how the dehydrated soil now has lots of air pockets around the dirt clumps and how it affects detection depth and/or TID stability?

Thanks again!!!!

Very nice video Bill, thanks for taking the time to do it, very informative. Thanks

Randy

The small coil will go a lot deeper than that. It just so happened that most of the targets were in that depth range. I am pretty sure I could get a coin target at 8" with that coil even in those dry conditions.

Elk, I think some of my other videos show some deep silver and what it sounds like and how it shows up on the screen.

Nice video Bill...........I would have liked to seen you switch over to your regular trashy park pattern in conductive on some of those targets, just to see what the difference would of been...........btw, I use your trashy park pattern a majority of the time with great success!!!

HH...........Hawkeye Jim.

Jim, if I make another one like that I will do what you suggested. Glad you are having success with the pattern.......;o)

Hi Bill_S:

I just posted this comment on youtube, but here it is again... Thanks for your video. I just got an e-trac on the weekend and have been really frustrated with the deluge of tones as I live in Toronto and the parks are trash filled. A couple of questions:

What coil is that you are using?

Can you share that poptab-killing pattern file?

Thanks and Happy Hunting

The coil is the 6" excelerator coil. You can find them for sale online if you do a search.

Yes the pattern can be downloaded from here on findmall. This is the link.

Don't give up on the Etrac, once you learn it you will be tearing up those trashy parks.

That would be great Bill..........If I ever make it down your way from NE Iowa, I'd like to hook up with ya for a hunt! :twodetecting:

Thanks! One other dumb n00b question about exchange software... Do I upload the mode only or the mode and the pattern file to my e-trac?

From what I understand from the manual, the mode contains all the settings including the pattern? Is that right?

Thanks for posting that. I have a site that this approach just might be worth trying on. It's an old mansion that burned and it is square nail hell. Tried several times with the X-5 and just found a few brass items but I'm hoping there's more there. Maybe this would unlock a few more targets worth digging.
