Overlooked children's play area at a park formed in the early 1900's.

How this children's play area was missed by others is beyond me but I am not complaining It is bit of a ride but so far, it has been well worth the ride. This is a new to me park and has been hunted extensively. I figured I'd give it a try and see if I could find anything. In two hunts, (about 10 hours) I have found 53 Wheat Pennies, an 1892 IH penny, 13 silver coins and three marbles. All of this was found in about a 15 foot radius. Thanks for looking. Keep cool and drink plenty of fluids in this heat.

I do need help I seriously was not expecting this outcome at a well hunted park. How on earth it was missed, I will never know. However, I am going to continue to have a blast while it lasts.

If I stayed home, all those poor coins would still be screaming from the ground
Incredible as it is, this spot was clearly missed. Hopefully these 100 temps break so I can get back to rescuing more

Dang nab productive 15' radius there, bud....good job sniffing it out first off and then gleaning it. Keep at it, all those wheats and other coins were masking a few more keepers, I highly suspect. Nice job! HH ji tn

Nice scores Jim at school near me last year one part of a hill next to a big oak tree we found two seated dimes a barber silver quarter!
one dime was 1849 2" down could not believe it! Boy the coins are as shiny as my river silver! love finding undetected spots!

Was this a researched area and how did you know to look for that 15’ area? Im surmising others moving too fast skipped right over them or incorrect settings. Good job having the patience for that one!! And to one up jkline I would say “double damn”

It’s pretty darn thick with iron. I’m talking iron upon iron and coins upon coins. When I would cut a plug I’d find not only iron pieces and nails but two and sometimes three wheaties in a hole. I have been crossing over every plug in different directions before moving on. I did this as that’s how dense ferrous and non ferrous targets were. I’d move 3-4” on a different angle then find a silver dime. Move another inch or two and find another wheat etc etc etc. I am moving ever so slow on suspect targets as 97% of my targets have iron pieces mixed in.
I am going to dub this location the mixing bowl lol. It’s like a big cookie dough mixture of targets. I will say, I love this environment and a true challenge!!

Mr. Ron,

On the 1934 aerial map, the ground showed there was a lot of activity. (the ground is worn looking) Much of the area has been changed due to building up dirt to have the sidewalk and road sit higher than this little field area. I figured I'd give it a shot and started hunting. I would check out different areas "spot checking". I was scanning away and not finding much of anything and decided to turn around and head back towards my vehicle. As I was detecting, I noticed I climbed a very slight incline in the ground. Then Bam! My first silver dime. I moved a few inches and found a wheat, then another wheat, then a merc dime, then bam, bam, bam lol. That's how fast everything changed on my first hunt there. I kept on asking myself, "what in the heck was here at one time?" I walked to the end of this slight mound and walked back away from it and looked. Now I see it!! Very slightly, I can see a large rectangle in this field. I could then make out the slight depressions where the swings would of sat. You know, how when we were kids and would drag our feet on the ground while swinging? That's what I saw! Yes, I can't wait to get back lol.
