over hunting a beach?

fisher2

New member
it seems i am the only hunter at my beach IN the water ive been going early morn and later night daily for low tides for the past week and it seems my beach is dead for a few days atleast its a veryy small beach maybe 120 ppl a day on hot days i went from digging every few minutes to maybe one target an hour and less and less goodies how long should i wait to hit it again?

if your hunting in the water try hunting outside the swim area up or down the shore or out deeper if you can not just in what id defined as the swim area by buoys etc..sometimes the tide brings things down the beach or up the beach if there's something stopping you (a wall, pier, rocks etc...) check around it as it will stop the gold just like a riffle in a gold pan!!! hope this helps...also try swinging your detector in all medal mode as it will get deeper then dis. mode most of the time and you clean out the junk that might be masking a good target

Water temps might not be up to there best level for swimmers yet, so you may want to jump onto the dry a few days a week until mid July. That I have found in OC Md...best hunting is in the dry till around the middle of July, then from that point till mid Sept, the gold is in the HT to LT lanes and Out.{each beach has it's own secrets}..Plus look around for a few other Beach's in the area...Most of Beach's I hit range from 30 minutes to 2+ Hours driving time, I know where you live so That state has so much history there has to be some old Beach's, lakes, swimming holes.....best of luck to you fisher2..........Joe
