Outlaw Vs Vaquero

Beale

New member
OK I can order the vaquero today. Not sure o the Outlaw? I am a coin shooter. Right now I run the Silver. I could also order the Deleon or the Golden today. I live in NC. Piedmont area to be exact. Everything from red Clay to nice loamy soil. My question is this.

Do I wait? If not recommend, Beale.

I would wait and take time to get the one you want.

I am thinking that a manual adjustable detector would do you best, that said you should either get the Vaquero or the Outlaw. If You have plenty of coils that will fit the Vaquero why not get that one but if you don't have any coils laying around why not get the Outlaw, it comes w/3 great coils as I am sure you are aware of (coils that will fit any type of digging conditions). Another thing to take into account is do you want one of the H.O.T. detectors such as the Vaquero/Cibola/Tejon or would you be happier with the

OK. Go ahead and nail me. Robert himself said the Outlaw wasn't as deep as the Vaq. I, on the other hand, don't care that much for depth anymore. I would definitely have a Golden and that's what I'm saving for.. Come on, gold rings!

My big thing is this. I hav a Umax. So I would prefer to stay in the umax coil type. I know I want a Manual GB. Thus my delima this leaves the Outlaw. Guess I just wait. Hey since the boxes are giving them fits? Mayby they will offer a choice of one coil and drop the price? Beale.

Know the feeling. I have the 4" coil, and the 5.75" coil already-so thus the Golden.

You said you are a coin shooter?

Buy the Golden.

IMO, its the best coin shooter being made today.

Why is this? The tones? I do not understand the notch feature. Can you explain it to me? Beale.

Yes I did say this. however I also said how often do you find quarters and 10 1/4". In the best ground, that is what the Outlaw is capable of. If you do not super tune the V, it doesn't go that deep.

Now that's just plane wrong, you say that the Outlaw will not go as deep as the Vaquero and now you say that the Outlaw will hit a quarter at 10 1/4" and that the Vaquero doesn't go that deep. :clapping:
On paper i think that the Outlaw and the Vaquero should give you about the same depth give or take 1/2 an inch, I'm going to say from what your saying that you have turned up the gain to give the Outlaw that extra depth. I look forward to reading more field tests on your new Outlaw allcav, I would like to know how stable it is if you have turned the gain up. Les in the UK

You are not listening. I said at best, the Outlaw can find a quarter at 10 1/4". That means in the best ground conditions. Thats what I said. I will not do that in highly mineralized soil. The Vaquero at best when super tuned, it could go up tp 12". If it is not super tuned, then it at best about 9" to 9.5". Again, in heavy mineralized soil, these numbers change. That is what I said.

I think super tune is a mind trick, if use quality headphone you don't need to do that, you will get volume, not depth. just my personal opinion

Super tuning is not a must but I guarantee you that it will get you alittle more depth, more volume as you say but more depth as well. If you have a detector that can be super tuned try this- find a deep faint signal that you can just barely hear, now super tune your detector and noticed how much harder it hits.

I agree SkiWhiz it gets a louder sound signal on low volume ones, but it is just that. I have run some tests because I started using my Vaquero super tuned and after using a set of headphones with limiter I came to the conclusion that I would better have my VCO mode at hand during my hunts. all-metal is a killer on small targets like gold earrings and a hotrock buster

now if I were to use the machine without headphones, then I would super tune it

again, this is just the way I do

Super tuning amplifies the audio. This allows the machine to find deeper targets.

Not in this case. Basically when you turn up the threshold, you turn up the base level and it kicks the faint sounds really load. It not amplifying it. I use that word because it is easier to understand it better.
