Just got my CTX Weds evening...read the guide and put it together, charged batteries..now just turned it on to start playing... It has a steady hum to it, Is this normal and will I hear this all the time? Or is that a ground balance issue?
 
Steady HUM is the threshold sound... When you go over a discrimated target like IRON you will hear nothing... So you KNOW you went over a discriminated target... Set that hum so you can just hear it...

just adjust it down to a level that is not too loud for you. mine is set so I can hear it, but it is low enough to not drive me crazy.
