Our weekend hunt

The finds were average, nothing exceptional, so I put this picture in instead. Nancy gets the photo credit of me hunting with our faithful "digger", General. We went camping at a lake where my brothers "taught" me how to swim 50 some years ago. I was the youngest of four boys and one summer day we were fishing and one of my brothers asked me if I wanted to learn how to swim and I said sure.............so in the pond I went. One bro had my arms and another one my feet...........a one, a two and SPLASH, clothes and all. Laughing and shouting instructions from shore, I learned to swim that day. Funny now, but back then, I was just the youngest of four and was often the source of their "fun".

The swim beach is long gone, but I located the foundation of the bath house and started hunting there working my way along the shore line. Lots of area to hunt again one day because people used to, and still do, fish all around the lake. My take for the weekend was three silver dimes, two rosies, one merc, a 1907 Indian and 12 wheats and the usual clad and an Illinois tax token.

BOY, I'm one unhappy camper. The one weekend I couldn't go the weather was great. I'm glad you two had a great time. :goodnight: Rob
