I have the 6 inch 3 KHz Digger Coil the 7.5 KHz stock coil the 6 inch 18.75 KHz round coil and the 6x9 or 10 18.75 KHz elliptical coil That 3 KHz Digger coil is unreal on silver
They named that six inch 3 khz Digger coil after Randy (forum member/name "Digger")------He was really a neat guy.---He was from Iowa & I used to talk to him some via p.m.s.-----He was super sharp on the Xterras.----Does anybody know what happened to him?---Haven't heard from him in years.

I also talked to him a few times in PMs he was very knowledgeable about the Xterras and had it not been for Randy's book Understanding your Xterra i would have ended up wrapping my Xterra 705 around a tree at some point he helped me a ton learning my xterra 705

not sure what ever became of him but he was a wealth of knowledge that's for sure, also @Old Longhair is a great knowledge on the Xterra 705, maybe @Old Longhair will chime in and let us all know what became of Randy Horton AKA (Digger)

I'm in daily communication with him. He is well, but his knees pretty much ended his digging career and he's sold his detectors.
I keep him up on new X-Terra info as it becomes available so we can discuss it.
I'll let him know that you folks were asking about him.

Thanks for letting us know that he is still with us and kicking, it is sad that he can no longer detect but as we know it will eventually catch up to all of us

He winters on a gulf beach in Texas, and I'm casually trying to encourage him to get an X-Terra Pro and a sand scoop just for fun, but beach hunting just isn't his style....yet.

Yeah----Now that you mention it--the last time I talked to him I do remember him saying he was wintering in TX---I think he said his wifes name was Jenny (if memory serves).----He helped me out with the CTX to a long time ago.-----Tell him ole Del said "hello". :)---I'm 85 yrs. young now & don't have the CTX anymore---but I'm still swinging the lighter detectors.----Time flies when you're having fun---huh! :)

Interesting....assuming your talking about the first 4 digits, mine is 4042.
@Old Longhair knows more about this than I do all I can tell people what I have been told and what I have read, I believe it is based on the last four numbers in the Serial number

I looked through my notes, and I can't find anything about serial numbers that's relevant to where they were made, only when they changed the firmware to make third party coils incompatible.
Personally, I don't think it makes a lick of difference where it was made or assembled. Some do claim that the older 70s where hotter, but I've never seen any definitive evidence of that either.

Interesting

I could have swore there was a discussion about this at one time where people were saying the first 4000 705s were produced in Ireland and something about those being deeper

<snip> That 3 KHz Digger coil is unreal on silver
The 6" Digger and the 15" 3kHz WOT populate my 705 85% of the time. Those 3kHz coils are worth every ounce of effort we put into their manufacture.
And if you really want deep, learn to utilize "Prospector Mode" with that 3kHz coil. It will blow your mind!

I run that 3 KHz Digger coil all the time on my Xterra 705 its my favorite coil on the 705 or one of my favorite coils, and I also run in prospecting mode all the time, I do not own the 15 inch 3KHz WOT coil, when I first got a 6 inch 3KHz Digger coil I did not like it at first so I sold it then here about 6 months ago I was able to find a used 6 inch 3 KHz Digger coil at a good price for sale and jumped on it and it has been on my 705 ever since I use it in some parks I hunt, i do also like the 6x9 or 10 elliptical 18.75 KHz coil also but I use it when I am nugget detecting

I have been keeping an eye out for the 15 inch 3 KHz wot coil but have not seen one for sale any where and not sure they still produce them new

I have the Double Score and like it so much I just ordered the Triple to try out the relic mode. I just traded a new Simplex Ultra and a X-terra pro, both good machines, to Richard for the Triple . Will use the Double as a back up. Someone will get the pristine trades from King Richard. Yes, he's number one. My brother thinks I'm crazy for getting rid of my 800 and Dues 2. They were just too darn complicated for my old mind. Luckily the Scores only weigh about 2 1/2 lbs. I've always been amazed at the Nokta Macro line simply because they push the limits with new machines that are affordable and do the job well. Saddens me to see what happened to White's, Tesoro, Garrett, Fisher, Nautilus, etc. Either poor management or they simply saw more profit in other ways. Well, a few of them. Some are gone forever.

That's where I'm getting my Triple Score also---King Richard (Backwoods Detectors)---top notch Findmall dealer.----I've done MANY deals with my good friend Richard.------Also, I contacted Nokta & they said the Triple Scores will be in distributors hands very shortly.

I used to buy up his used detectors from his website. It seems he quit doing that in favor of posting them on here. I do not know how to buy anything from the classifieds on here so I refrain from it. I see he frequently has some good deals though and I still buy from his Ebay listings.

I would highly recommend Richard to anyone he is a fantastic dealer and he is who I will be getting a new Vortex VX9 from when they get to him I have my name on his waiting list to get one and according to Richard he ordered 4 of the VX9s and I am first on his list to receive my VX9

I did the same with the 3 digger coil and just got another recently. I had the 3khz concentric at one point too. Those were expensive.

It was the concentric coil that convinced me to work with Randy to campaign and pressure Minelab for another one or allow Coiltek to develop them. As a result, he got me in with Treavor & Natalie at Coiltek for the field testing of both the 6" and 15". It was quite a process, but well worth it! Coiltek even used an excerpt from my report on the "Digger" in their advertisement.
I still have all three 3kHz coils, and I'll never part with any of them.

Thanks for your contribution OL.
