AMC,the F4 is a ID unit and the 1236X a turn and go.I could see Fisher discontinuing this unit,but the F4 wouldn't fill this niche.The silver lining there may be good deals on the 1236X.The F4 is a great unit but entirely different.Anyway good luck.
