Opinion on performance of my Vaquero?

Hope you get your machine running better than what it has been,Tesoro like most detector manufactures build the machine to a specif tolerance and as long as all the machine fall within that tolerance then it will be signed off ready to ship out,of course some machine just come inside the lower end and some machines are nudging the top of the tolerance range and those are of course the 'hot' machines. But the trouble is that until you buy one and try it out the customer has no idea what is a 'hot' or a 'cold' machine.

I have a UK version of the Vaquero called the Trident11 Extreme, this has not only got manual GB but also fixed GB as well which is set for ferrite about as bad as what it gets,as we have mild ground conditions most of the time i can run mine is fixed GB,but when ground conditions are bad or i would change coils then manual GB is the way forward, but the fixed GB does work most of the time which is a suprise, which means one less setting that i require to adjust before i am out detecting.

^ This is why I'm afraid it will come back the same. But as soon as I told him my Bandido II hit a deep buried target better than the Vaquero, he assured me there was a problem. So that gives me hope at least...

The Laser machines you guys get over there in the UK are pretty neat. It would be cool if we had the option to buy them here.

Just wondering if you saw a previous post on a user who got a NEW Vaq with bad battery?

I saw the post I think you are referring to. The battery in it gave 6 beeps. I swapped it with a new battery and it performed the same. I actually did it this morning, I happened to think of it right before I boxed the detector up lol.

I think the settings he suggests are close to what I run except I run in to the red zone until it begins to chatter then I back it off until it just begins to settle. I run the GB 1/4 turn negative, threshold at 3-6:00 and my Vaq beats my 3030 in depth and in particular recovery speed.

There is no comparison, I use my Vaq in trashy sites where recovery speed is everything. I have dug quarters down to at least 10" dimes an easy 8-9"

One more thing, how long do you think zinc pennies can be in the ground before they are completely disintegrated?

UWMM

Don't mean to hijack, but I lost the business card rusty sent me. Does anyone have his email? I have a deleon to send in for a checkup.
Thanks!!

I use to think My Vaquero wasnt going deep enough . I usually ran the sens at 10 . One day while hunting , I laid it on a log ,cranked the sens up and air tested a penny , I estimaited at 12 to 14 inches .Now days, I usually crank it up . Most of the time it runs stable to the end of the red line . The numbers you posted sounds good to me . If you wantdeeper , turn that sens up . I also dont GB in the negative . I GB neutral .
