One more Golden uMax Question
I set the tone settings by air testing certain coins, etc. I set the ground balance to a slight positive setting. I am off now to hit a few parks and will let you all know how I make out with the adjusted "Steve's way settings" Golden uMax. Thanks! Steve.
Not trying to be a jerk, but don't you think you should disclose that you have been inside this detector changing factory settings?I wouldn't touch this this with a ten foot pole!

And I am not trying to be a jerk to you Kurt or anyone else but - I have been working in electronics for almost 30 years, I have been a satellite dealer since 1985 and have fixed hundreds of satellite receivers & so on. If you think that I am not capable of removing 2 faceplate screws that hold on the faceplate and adjusting a simple potentiometer with a small plastic phillips screwdriver then you have alot to learn about me my friend.

One more thing, if someone buys my Golden and is unhappy with it, I will return their money, I am that honest, and can give you proof of that from many people I have sold detectors to. And have a 5 star Tesoro dealer from Conn. that will tell you what kind of person I am. Thanks for your cheering me up! Steve.

I know when I was thinking about selling mine before I would sell it I sent it back to Tesoro to get tuned up. So it would be right before I sold it. That was the right thing to do for me anyway. It came all super tuned up and deep like it used to be so I just decided to KEEP IT and not sell it. Anyway just some thoughts on the machine. :D: :D: HH Jerry aka Tinfoil

Hi SkiWhiz, I didn't mean to imply you where trying to be dishonest,or that you don't know electronics. I have also adjusted, modified or tinkered with metal detectors over the years,I am building my own pi unit from scratch right now.All I was trying to say was (cover your a#%) you have it posted in the classified section and if a rookie gets it and sends it to Tesoro and they for what ever reason find out someone has been in there, they might not warranty it.Then that rookie is going to be one pissed off sob.So don't take all post so personnel was only my two cents.Have a good day--Kurt

Thanks! Steve.

No worries,I haven't been on to many forums and kinda new to them actually.Have found that not typing your thoughts clearly or easy to understand where you are coming from.People will let you know in a hurry LOL. Sorry for confusion I have to learn to be more specific when replying--Kurt

Hey Steve I received the Golden Umax yesterday and it was just as you said it was, although it was to late to go hunting I took it out today and may did I have a good time. I love the multi tones because it reminds me of the detector I grew up with and it was no problem to get back in the hang of it. I have many Tesoro's and this is my favorite. I've been reading some of the posts here about the adjustments that were made to it and what ever you did to it it worked. it cuts through the ground like a hot knife through butter. Thanks again for the fine (outstanding) detector and look forward to doing business with you in the future. Your a man of your word, which is a hard thing to find these days.

Thanks again Ski

Thanks for your kind words Tim it was a pleasure doing business with you as well. I am glad that someone like you ended up with my Golden, I wanted someone that would appreciate it get it, that's the main reason I didn't eBay it.

I highly recogmend Tim to anyone to do business with, he is a true gentleman. Thanks again Tim! Steve.

P.S. Quote Not trying to be a jerk, but don't you think you should disclose that you have been inside this detector changing factory settings?I wouldn't touch this this with a ten foot pole!

Thanks for having faith in me Tim, especially after reading a post like the one above.
