One hour in a "hunted out" local park

Nice...that pocket knife looks like an old Case 'Sodbuster' model.

I jealous of those dimes...those mercs are beautiful.

I will have to give that knife a soak in some Evapo rust and give it a closer look. The lettering I can see on the closed blade may very well be a C and S, it is rusty and stuck on the hinge end so I dismissed it as junk. Considering it was four inches down it has been in the ground for a while and could just be an electrolysis reaction between the metals. Those Merc's are both in good shape and identical twins to boot, good finds any day of the week for me.

I have been using the playground equipment as way markers and that is the second time this summer that some poor youngster has left me a toy car at my start point. The first one was a near mint Hot Wheels blue 69 Camero, I think my stepson latched onto it as I haven't seen it for a while now.

People getting the shallow clad are in fact doing others that cherry pick deep signals a favor. Back when I would hunt with an Ace250 I would dig up any high CO target. My buddy with a minelab would go behind me and pick out all the good deep stuff I was uncovering for him. I went out and got an Etrac. Since then, with his educating me on the machine, I too have become a park cherry picker. I get less exercise but sure do find cool stuff.
