On a Bit of a Roll

Goldak

New member
After going about a month without finding any gold I now have found a gold ring on 3 out of the last 4 hunts. Yesterday's ring came late in the day as I was getting close to leaving. It was in the wet sand about 5-6 inches deep near some patches of black "sand". It is very small but is stamped 14K and came out of the sand very "clean".
The nice thing about these last few rings is that I'm sure that they are not recent drops judging by the coins I found around them. To me that means that there are still more "old" goodies to find until the beach gets replenished by the summer beach-goers. Hang in there everyone- summer's almost here![attachment 163003 IMG_2635.JPG][attachment 163004 IMG_2642.JPG][attachment 163005 IMG_2640.JPG] HH!

Yes, I am currently using a White's DF. I also have VLF machines that will discriminate iron but they don't work as well in the black sand and won't detect as deep. HH!

Very Nice

My First Hunting lesson ever  ..............Never follow a Pi hunter at The beach..... WTG on the find :surrender:

Thanks Gene, Yeah, lots of digging but it's better than no digging! HH!

Nice bang bang there pards! Yeah I agree if your digging the cookie coins out then there is definitely deeper treasure there. Get in there and pound it until the sand moves back over it!

Nice find and I feel your pain on the DF digging. My left arm is getting swollen from lifting the scoop. Even old men can develop new muscles. I have found only multiple dumps to pouch will allow for all the other items you dig with the machine. But those every now and then finds do make you like it.
Congratulations
