Omega on the way!

I got 1 coming. Many thanks to Richard! He is a great guy to deal with.

I finally got my copays paid off from my cancer surgery last Oct and was able to order it. Bad news is my COBRA ends this month so I will live on hope it doesn't come back.

The reviews on the Omega helped a bunch but if for some reason I don't like it I won't blame anyone but me for buying it. It was my decision. I have a feeling I will like it tho.

I will let everyone know my impressions of the Omega.

Absolutly Love it. as soon as I put it in my hands I knew this one was a keeper. Being used to running a CZ I feel this detetcor is as close to being a Digital Cz as they come. Much simplier to operate than a F70/F75. Love the tones, especially listening to deep signals. They tend to have that nice mellow sound that the Cz's have. Build quality is very good. Depth is fantastic! Only wish that the detector had a last setting memory. I took the Omega out to a park that I have pulled some deep silver out with a CZ 3D. All old coins are DEEP in this park. The Omega passed with flying colors! Dug a few wheats that were a solid 8" Had nice repeatable signals with more to spare. This detector holds it's ID at depth. No jumping numbers at all. I compare this detector to a little brother of an F70 with a twist of the CZ line thrown in. I had no EMI interference at all like I did with the F70 at this park. I was able to run the sensitivity up to 75 before I started hearing internal noise. Backed it down a touch and it ran as quiet as a church mouse. I am taking the batteries out of my other detectors and am going to run the Omega exclusively this summer. Once word gets out on this detector I think it will be winner for sure!

It is so nice to hear another good report on the omega. I just purchased mine two weeks ago and we've got nothing but rain, so still no chance to put time into it. I am assuming you were running the omega with some discrimmination when you found the wheats at 8 inches. I would rather use the tone i.d. as it requires less focus on the screen, so this is good news.

Glad to see someone else thinking of the Omega like I do. Today I took my Omega out specifically see to what degree it loses depth in drier conditions. I already know wetter condition performance is exceptional. I dug a couple short 32 cal rimfire casings that were about 3/8" long, one of them being at 10+ inches and the other just slightly less. I think I got the answer to my question.

Great Robo! I am glad to see another good review on the Omega.

If the good reviews keep coming in next thing we know Elton will have one lol.

I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas.

Don't have an answer but I am very excited about this detector. Seems like it has everything I want in a detector. Since I am mostly a deep silver hunter this detector really seems like it will fit the bill. (7.5 KHz operating feature) Fading audio on deeper items. (Love That) Nice and light. Very friendly user interface. Great Depth. Really reminds me like I said earlier of the CZ line. Stability is great. Seems like it is just all in all a pleasure to use, My confidence is very high with this one. I know it will get down there with plenty extra power to spare. I hope to see more upcoming posts about this detector and other users reviews. All I can say is that it seems to be a good match for me.

I didn't get to use the Omega, only checked it out but was definity impressed with the feel and look of the detector. The audio was clean, crisp, and aggressive, somewhat akin to the CZ-70.... I think that Teknetics has a winner:beers: right beside of the T-2... Best to all.. Richard

I liked that 8" Wheat cent report.. right up there with the T2 and F75 isn't it..HMMMMMMMMMMM Richard @ BW ??????

It is beginning to look like the Omega might possibly replace my 1270 for stuff in the nickel to zinc range. Convince me some more.

LOL...I thought I would get a bite from Elton.

Elton I have followed your quest on detectors. I was really interested in the T2 but it was out of reach for me. You are one of the good guys that I follow threads from and learn from your experience.

Tom, you're waaaay too good and experienced at this hobby for me to presume you can or need to be convinced by me. Only you can do that but I suspect that you'd see similar things if you were to try one. I can tell you this....the Omega (and the Gamma for that matter) have single handedly gotten me personally over any interest I had in any of the "legacy" Fishers and I used them all except the 1212. There are some things that I liked about the C$, Edge, Excel, 1270, 1236, and CZ's and thusly tended to keep some lingering combination of them around. In six short months all that has changed. I'm as much a hopeless sentimental romantic with products as you can get but loyalty has to be earned and more importantly after that, maintained with me. When I started hunting with the Gamma and later the Omega, it didn't take long for me to have to admit to myself these were better mouse traps for my use and at that point the past just "went away". I continue to keep looking for one of those "ah-hah!" moments when you find a flaw that while may be not exactly a deal breaker, it's still an outage that you just can't get out of your mind and it weighs to varying degrees on you enjoyment and/or confidence when you use it. For the first time ever, it just ain't happenin'. From my past job experience I'm well aware of product development and evolution and IMO these aren't just something that FT threw together to fill a price point in their line-up. They clearly are steeped with serious improvements. Just my opinion.
