No great loss on the DFX if you have an Ex II - what are your other detectors?

Hey Erik are you keeping the EX2 as a back-up machine?
Or are there circumstances that you would use the EX2 instead of the E-trac? I can't imagine when...

BTW I got my E-trac about a month ago and my extra special great wife paid for it... I will pay her back as soon as I sell my EX2...hahahahahahaha

I got an E-trac recently. Sold my Ace 250, and I'm selling my SE Pro once I get a chance to clean it up first and put it back in the box. Still have a Fisher Impulse PI detector with 8" coil for the beach. Just bought a DFX so I can learn ANOTHER new detector.

I had to buy my wife a maxed out Alienware m15x gaming laptop to keep her happy :) I think we are all good now. Hopefully so because if the Impulse doesn't work out well in the water, I may be getting a Excal II... hee hee hee.

Having expensive toys are one thing, but taking off on trips out of town with those toys away from the wife and kid are quite another. I have a feeling I'll be doing a lot of projects around the house this year.

Yeah! She knows! I have a couple of hobbies and just add a few dollars here and there when I change or upgrade, as I sell the stuff I had. I have a really nice SE hanging on the wall that hasn't been turned on since I got the ET. I really should get rid of it...but I just can't quite do it yet. That SE is the one that XYZ company used to put their protective product on and and used as a mold to make the pattern. They told me it was on the way back. I'm sure I'll order a shield for the ET if I like what the SE looks like. Went out today in the rain with the miserable cover on it and the handle got pretty muddy as the ground was soaked. Would have been a lot nicer if I didn't have to use the old cover and worry about mud and scratches on the screen. Jim

i have one, but had to sell my exp.2. she doesn't mind. always tells me i could be doing worse with my time. when i learn how to use my new digital camera i will post last years finds

Yes, but like some of the others, I too have to keep a limit on my stable of detectors, so if I get one new one, another older one has to go. This time, it will probably be my shaft mounted Sov Ellite with custom remote all-metal switch. My GT will do much of the same albeit not quite as convenient, so I'm going to keep it as the backup.

I've had mine for three weeks now. I couldn't sneak it past her. I had to tell her. But I used the finds from my Ace 250 to pay for the E-Trac, so it was OK. The Ace found me a $1000 watch and a 1795 half cent. Now the E-Trac is starting to pay off. Found an 1843 large cent in great condition New Year's day. Pulled it out of a lot of iron. I loved the Ace, but the E-Trac seems to be a little better in heavy iron. I can't wait to try it at the beach.

I had all the Explorer models from day one that they came out so I had to be one of the first in the UK to own the E Trac and boy what a detector. So stable with a virtually wide open screen and max manual sensitivity on the farm fields I hunt here in southern England. With finds like the silver hammered penny of King Henry 11 from 1180 AD just poppin out regularly using my pitch hold set up Im loving every minute of it and yes the missus did get to know I bought the ET but only after the event but I did trade the SE in just to smooth things over some.

My E-Trac will be on the way shortly. Richard at Backwoods detectors recieved the money order , but he's still waiting for my (Almost new) Garrett GTI 2500 that I traded him for the E-Trac to arrive. I also sold my Golden Umax plus accessories to help come up with some of the money. Richard gave me a great deal on my Garrett trade in and is a pleasure to do business with! That will leave me with just two detectors - My new E-trac and my couple month old Vaquero , but I'm very happy with my detector arsenol.:please: If I had any other detectors I think they would just be sitting in the back of the closet collecting dust. You can only swing one at a time anyways unless I'm mistaken.:detecting: My fiancee knows about the E-trac , but she said that she hopes this will be my last detector (At least for a while).:ranting: I can't wait for the E-trac and Andy's book to arrive even though it will be a while before I can swing it here in Northern Wisconsin. I'll just have to read the book a time or two , so I know what I'm doing when spring finally does arrive. My detecting buddy has an Explorer XS , but I've never owned a minelab before , so I have alot to learn. Between the manual , Andy's book , and all the helpfull insight on this forum I think I should do alright. Happy Hunting ( For those of you lucky ( Or SMART ) enough who still can ) CoinShooter-Craig

yeah i got mine just before xmas with a bogo deal, i wanted to purchase the xe pro, for 1200 but there was a bogo and they gave me a cobra underwater detector, which i was conveiniently looking to buy as well. but then they told me the bad news that the xe pro was on backorder. did I mind if they gave me an etrac....well......now i am very very happy.

Bought my girlfriend one for Christmas and she loves it. First find out in the field was a musket ball, first coin was a fatty indian with a hole drilled into the date. After her first day only 3 pieces of trash in her pouch and about 15 old bullets, old brass ring and the IH. She hasnt even read the manual yet.

You married guys really need to get a pair!

Not what you are thinking.......

A pair of E-tracs.....one for you and one for her. And if she doesn't want one......then you've got a great back up !!!!

At least she could not say you are being selfish...because you were thinking of her.

Or you could hide it from her....until you find a nice ring. Give her the ring telling her that this new machine found it. Kind of takes the edge off any argument why you should not get one.

Thinking about buying one,,,, I have a explorer se and a Excal 2,, and the girlfriend thinks they both are the ACE 250  I am suppost to be saving money for our future together :help: lol So i think if i buy one she wont know the difference .... I just have to delete it out of me email before she gets it.... She is a special girl :wiggle: lol I'm also thankful she can't read this post,, " i would be dead" lol So everyone that has an E-trac, do you all like it alot better than the explorer???? And if so,,,, What makes you like i better????
