ok I am getting very frustrated pinpointing :rage:

Swing slower over it. You're going to fast. Scan slow and center the target side to side - then move the coil all the way off the target before you press pinpoint. Then press pinpouint and move back over the target, center it side to side and backwards and forwards -and pinpoint it. You're pressing pinpoint at the wrong time and confusing the machine.

Yeah the side to side is the most critical part of pinpointing with a Garrett of any kind.. You have to listen closely to determine where the loudest audio is. Miss it by a hair and the target will be way off.

Bill

Glad you finally figured it out. As I said in another post - the cardboard method is the easiest way to figure out what pinpointing is all about.

Bill

That's your problem. As I stated - you're in to big of a hurry. If you've never bowled before you can't be expected to pick up a ball for the first time in your like and roll a 300.

Bill

With all Garretts I scan with the coil off the ground and pinpoint the same. Their coils are just to sensitive and scrubbing creates problems sometimes.

Bill

yes I am glad I finally figured out how to do it, the cardboard trick was the key to me understanding what you were saying

Yes but remember you move the coil off to the right you have to press the pin point a couple times fast and move it back over the target, at least that is how it works for me. Just keep doing it a few times until the target area shrinks. You'll get it.
