The Silver uMax does a better job telling you that it's can slaw under the coil, but the Golden uMax excels at eliminating pull tabs.
I'd love to have a Silver uMax with a notch feature.

You must have your notch width knob set at different position than I do. Moving it around changes the tones on the lower end. If I hear a gobble tone, I'm digging.

Thanks guys----I like this set up Tabman has & the reason I was asking about what tone most of the can slaw was coming in on is---If you had the new tone Golden and was concentrating on gold rings---and like was mentioned, that can slaw is coming in on high tone (on the new tone Golden)---couldn't you really narrow the odds, dig even less junk and have a much better chance at gold by just ignoring those high tones (forgetting about the coins & what hits in that range) & "going for the gold"?----That's with the way that Tabman has it set up that I'm talking about.-----Have patience with me, I'm more than a greenie with the Golden, I have never owned a new tone Golden but I do have one (new tone) coming (yahoo)! ----------Del

Mike will have to comment on the new audio tone, I have the old audio tone.
If I hear a high audio tone on mine, I'm digging. It could be a silver coin or a silver ring.
