If its an Xcal II it wont be me buying it....... i really have had great luck with the Blue Xcals and they just run smoother. Everyone that water hunts needs a good back up machine. Trust me they only break at the worst time...... normally during prime hunting time.

I keep seeing people say they prefer the blues. Aren't they the same technology? I saw a few depth tests where the blue outperformed the greens but all were modded so it wasnt really an even test.

I'm wondering about this as well. Why come out with a newer version if the old one works as well or better? Maybe as was suggested, some are just hotter than others.

To me there is a little more repairs needed to the Xcal II..... maybe because its no longer made in Ireland. After the warranty runs out that can get pricy. The blues run much smoother especially in the surf or where tilting the coil is done. Also i think anyone whose used the blue headphones would agree they are better than the yellows. Some of the old horse shoe coils were HOT.. Im not certain there is a big difference in depth....... its more the chatter and false beeps for me and maybe about the price of a new one with a 1 year warranty.
