Ok guys fess up! Who else is a member of the No Gold Losers Club this year? Think it has been 15 months since my last. Maybe tomorrow! Yeah right!

And believe it or not this was my only gold for the year. The pin in the middle has gold stamped on it upper right.

I cant trade it, My girlfriend wont part with it. Check out the before picture. If anyone ever says gold doesn't tarnish, check this out. The inside band said 14K. I thought it was fake. When the jeweler went to put it on the buffing wheel even he ask are you sure you want to clean this? The only thing I heard after that was oh, oh my this is nice.

is it really worth it? i supose i need to run with almost no discrimination and dig anything near nickles. i tried it but how can u stand all the cherping noise? I tried it at the beach for a little while in dry and wet sand, mostly dry, and everything sounds wierd, even new coins 4 inches down sound wierd and the stuff is hard to recover. I dont have a scoop, should i get one? So wet sand is better??
Your previous response was helpfull, Has digging the trash been worth the gold for u?
Thanks BK

Hello bk,
Sure, It's worth every bit of trash to recovery gold jewelry To be honest, After a while it becomes second nature digging trash to the point you're OK with going home with trash only. Sooner or later gold will surface.
"discrimination" Run your machine with no discrimination digging everything up to zinc penny. More gold is found at the lower levels and few are found near below zinc penny. However, The larger gold jewelry finds are near below zinc penny range while the smaller to medium gold jewelry finds are anywhere from foil to above nickel.
"dry sand" Yes, You need a sandscoop to recovery targets from the dry sand area. Signals do sound weird in the dry sand for some reason at times. Dry sand is tough on the feet and legs.
"Wet sand" This is my favorite off all, Wet sand hunting is easier on the legs and has been my best area to recovery gold rings. You'll need a tall well made scoop not those cheap one hand types but the stand up tough ones you use your foot to kick down into the wet sand.
"All metal" I prefer to hunt with all-metal in the wet sand, With the Sovereign all metal gets an extra inch of depth in the wet sand. Also, Little trash in the wet sand.
"Explorer" Use 16- ferrous when hunting the wet sand, The unit will operate so well with these settings.
Best of luck
