Not a good start.................

Bought a T2 and it arrived today. Connected the lower shaft to the coil. No problem. Then went to insert the upper rod and it took and act of god to get it in. I still have to get the button to pop all the way through the hole. Connected the rest of the detector, put in the batteries and fired her up. No power. I read about the batteries being too loose so I opened up the springs a little and she came to life. I set the T2 up so it felt comfortable and then tried the Trigger Switch and it won't move at all. I would think it should move back and forth pretty easy or am I wrong. If I put any more pressure on the switch I feel that it's going to snap off. Anyone have this problem? :ranting:

the only problem i had with mine it didn't have a button in the top shaft which was no problem i had some .
u may need to realigned button with hole in shaft or remove paint from The whole and make sure the locking collar is in the loose position
as far as the trigger mine is easy to use might need to call mfg for that

Call First Texas or your dealer and talk directly to them.
Don't try to fix any problems yourself. The battery was problem enough, and you probaby did the same thing that FT would do. But the switch should work easily without hardly any friction at all! That's a problem and I'd have them deal with it!

I'd ask for a replacement to be sent ASAP, and a return authorization prepaid for the one you got or I'd have to cancel my order with my credit card.

I'd say that First Texas would make it right.

I bought my detector from a Dealer, and he prepaid mine back for it's T2 rev 6 Mods, and battery checks. Once it was completely tested to specs it was shipped back to me in two weeks. I thought that was some pretty good service.
Been happy ever since!

Brand new, right out of the box. I'm waiting to hear back from Ron (Dixie Metal Detectors). I've bought from Ron before and never had a problem with a detector yet. I must have just got a bad one. It took an act of God to get the upper shaft in, and yes the locking collar was in the unlocked position.

I'm hoping that Ron will do the same thing. I was just looking forward to using the T2. I've bought many detectors and this has been my first problem one, I guess it was bound to happen. You would think that someone would test them before they're shipped out to the dealer or to a buyer.

thanks,

HH Randy

But its that way to prevent the wobbles that Tesoro's and the cheaper Bounty Hunters were known for. The collars lock different than say a fisher which are much easier to turn. You will get accustomed to it in time.

Hi Randy,

When you come up to my area next month and haven't got your replacement T-2 back, I'll give you a crash course with my T-2 and let you borrow it until yours arrives.

If you have time, I'll take you to a couple of spots near the Sanger area.

See you soon,
Paul (Ca)

I think Ron was shocked that I had all that trouble. Ron said he was going to have Teknetics issue a pick-up for the one he sent me and have them send me another one. Don't let this problem turn you off. I've heard nothing but good things about the T2 and I expect the new one to be fine. (I hope :detecting:).

What's Up Paul! I think everything will be fine before I get up there. Ron is already on top of the problem. I look forward to detecting with you soon. Stay away from those Big Mac's :geek:.

I am fortunate that all I had to do with mine was to extend the springs some. Other than that its a great detector. I know two other people that have had serious issues with theirs and these were drop shipped from Teknetics to them. The one fellow still hasn't got his problem staightened out and its been since the beginning of Dec going on. I thiink Teknetics is diggin their own grave. Their customer service flat out sucks when you have a problem. They really give you the run around when a person calls. At least I've experienced that.

Jesus! I hope I don't have that type of problem. Ron seems to be on top of it. Ron did say the person he deals with for the problem won't be back until Tuesday. I'll give him a call on Tuesday to see what is going on. Thanks for the heads up.

definately going to get one..???? I feel now that anyone selling the t-2 (dealer) should open it up and maybe give it a clean bill of health.. To bad that BRAND NEW detectors are going out to customers in this kind of condition....Maybe it is because the selling price is so Cheap???? NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes,but it seems to me and some others that teknetics(fisher) has had a higher batting average that most from just reading the forums.. Please correct me if I am wrong as I did want the F-75.. One guy just received a coil from Teknetics and no holes drilled in it.. come on now.. QC

I called 3 times.got disconnected twice ,then after getting to the person that I was suppose to ,got voice mail.. Have not received answer as of yet????????????????????????????????????????
