NOKTA MAKRO (LEGEND) GETTING SUED - PATENT INFRINGEMENT

I’ve been a huge ML guy since 2015 when I got my Explorer and then the CTX. I don’t like anything ML is doing right now. I’m not even sure exactly what I don’t like, but my intuition says there’s a huge power grab going on, even more than normal. I respect their concern over intellectual property, but it’s something more than that. And my non-Minelab machine I acquired recently is making my past machines not really look as good as I thought they were. Vibrating handles, headlights and backlit keypads are nice, but raw performance is what most serious hunters want, and need.
Of course I’m one guy and all this is just an opinion…

Law suits…..It’s the American way !…..Keep the lawyers working !….After all, if we don’t keep lawyers rich, we’ll end up with a shortage of rich judges ! ….. and only they can make proper decisions for we the people !…🙄

Break out the popcorn kids !…It’s sure to be a doosey !..🍿

Justice will soon prevail, and the ONLY winner will be the attorney's involved.

Probably BAD NEWS for Nokta and their Legend.

"THEFT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY".

A very serious crime.

I believe justice will ultimately prevail.

The only real winner, in my opinion, will be the numerous attorney's involved.

AHA, now i get it , sheltered life in a small bubble 🪕
Meanwhile in China counterfeit ML detectors are being made. Those are ok I guess. I bet they don’t leak though 🤣
You can’t make this up.
On a serious note though, how can you tell a counterfeit ML from the actual one.

Well all i can say is if the counterfeit minelabs are as good as the phone chargers that come out of china and sold on the bay of thieves, then don't expect them to last long.

But i wonder how you can tell the difference between a counterfeit ML and the real one.
Another thing to note and makes you wonder the real premise behind this farcical lawsuit is why no lawsuits or actions against those counterfeit detectors.
Again i just call balls and strikes.
Just like I love my kids but if they do something wrong i will call them out on it.
Then there are those parents(fans) where their kids can do no wrong.
A detector in one hand and the other their kid in the isle of a store screaming, No I want it,🤣

Try suing anything in china, they dont care. The CCP has their back. If Notka did reverse engineer SMF they pretty much are thieves. Half the price for a third of the work.

I think we can expect the same results as when ML sued XP.
If nothing was reverse engineered though we would all be driving Fords.
I guess if you are a Ford person you would be happy with that and paying $150,000 for a new Ford explorer.

Long overdue.

Go Minelab Go!

Help me understand why you think this is good news. Were you somehow harmed by Nokta?

Do you have personal knowledge - actual knowledge, not just a presumption based on bias - of Nokta stealing intellectual property? If so, can you describe in detail the intellectual property supposedly stolen?

Minelab has a bit of history with this sort of thing. They threatened to sue Whites - unfortunately Whites capitulated and agreed to pay Minelab. Minelab sued XP and lost. I think I recall reading (somewhere) that Minelab sued First Texas and lost (not positive about that, and I'm too lazy to look it up).

Minelab has a boatload of money. They can afford to use legal threats as a means of bludgeoning the competition into capitulation - knowing that even a loss on their part forces the competition to spend more limited resources defending themselves.

Protecting intellectual property is one thing. If... and I'd bet that is a very big IF - Nokta actually did infringe on Minelab's intellectual property, then Minelab should take steps to protect their property. That said, it would be unreasonable to think Nokta doesn't have a legal team that fully examined all of Minelab's patents before they started working on the Legend (or any other model). Unless Nokta's legal team is/was utterly incompetent, it is highly unlikely that Nokta infringed upon Minelab's patents.

If this lawsuit is - as I suspect, it to be - a bullying maneuver on the part of Minelab, then we in the relatively small metal detecting community stand to lose a lot if Minelab's attempts to bully bear fruit. Celebrating that is either short-sighted or outright foolish.

You wont get a logical explanation , ive been down this road so i will save you the time. Some people are very bias fanboys and will defend and criticize no matter if it makes sense or not .
Like a kid deeply in love lol they are blinded. Love will make you do some crazy things.🥰
