Warm milk... any honey? (Great for helping to clear a thick phlegm throat)...Really. You were a big man... (see now I would of called you a big man IN CAPS)! That I bet would of been ok, right? As I was saying... you were a “Big Man” (seriously) to report yourself to admin. I’ve never seen that done B4! And because of that, I was asked what admin should do about you. I thought to myself...if he is MAN ENOUGH (those HAD to be caps) to report himself, he is a good enough man to stay. And please do... but as I think you are aware now, these MBs/forums are not run on charity, but sponsored by certain companies and individual parties such as MT manufacturers and MT dealers.
Nokta/Macro Technologies literally helps pay for the expenses and admin of keeping this board up and running. Look what happened to White’s? They decided (rather foolishly I might add), to stop supporting this forum with only a portion of their ad dollars. Can the Boss here... “Guvner” allow them a free ticket, when everyone else has to pay? Certainly not. But the loss of the information exchange was huge. Owners of White’s models that no longer have that huge data base to reference and learn from, especially if your having trouble with your machine. It really is sad for all the customers, especially those who cannot afford to buy new. White’s should of considered the considerable loss to their customers, vs. the very, very reasonable fees to stay active here.
You can only think of what my boss thinks when you were mistakenly posting a live link to an eBay auction for a -competing product- (for almost twice the price I might add). Personally, (which has next to zero value) I enjoy seeing the “whole picture” of especially electronic products. We live in an amazing age, changing so very rapidly, feeding upon itself, that unfortunately is also hurting our one on one humanity. Who would of thought just a few years ago, of answering and seeing the face of the person ringing your doorbell at your home, -from across the country-!!!
I gave you what I thought “ Comisoas,” was the very best advice for you at this time. That was to keep your ScubaTector and simply use it for a long time to come. But their is another smart approach worth investigating! Sell it now (especially if it has a lot of use on it) and buy the new PulseDive because I know chances are you will LOVE it! And too...how old is your PinPointer? Is that item well worn but saleable? And you can sell both on the free advertising site here, and I bet a new PulseDive is almost paid for? One other fellow here said he is doing exactly that...selling his Garrett Carrot well it still has peak value. It has been the gold standard, no doubt. But now the PulseDive truly has so so many advantages, with gaining a HALF-INCH better range/depth over the Carrot. Think of the productivity increase! How much quicker you will find the target down in the hole. The PulseDive defaults to just Level 1, power, on start-up. At first I thought this might be a fault, but I quickly realized that for the great majority of targets, Level 1 Power... is all you want or need! It is so powerful on Level5, that the average target LIGHTS UP THE WHOLE HOLE! But the trusty old Carrot will always be in my pouch as a back up!
This past weekend my wife and I had a Treasure Hunters Gathering here in Sebastian. Quite a crowd with a big cookout and a charity auction. I was lucky to be up front when a 10 pound Civil War Parrot Shell fully loaded came up for auction. I was the only bidder at $100! Sweet!!! And it has some special history too. This Parrot Shell (Union) was dug about 50 years ago by Stu Auerbach, the founder of Kellyco, and one of the early pioneers of metal detecting! This Parrot Shell had sat on display in the museum for almost that full half century.
This being the home of the 1715 Spanish Plate Fleet, the loss of 11 Spanish Galleons along the coast here in the shallows. Right off the beach, most remains in 10-30 feet of water, and plenty treasure still coming ashore after storms along these beaches. I attended this gathering of about 100 divers, detectorist’s, etc., walking around with my little PulseDive “sales kit.” The carrying case the PulseDive came in.
The enthusiasm shown for this new product was to my wife and myself very exciting! You see the divers are always fighting to get their full size detectors in these tight crevices and gaps in this “worm reef.” Areas that time and again have held the gold coins and the Queen’s jewelry! To make a long story short... I could of sold my unit 2 dozen times on the spot. I signed up an entirely NEW DEALER TO NOKTA/MACRO... “Ancient City Detectors” out of St. Augustine, Fl., and sold 1 unit through RICHARD @ BACKWOODS METAL DETECTORS, Greeneville, Tenn., and another fellow insisted he be included in the first batch to Ancient City Metal Detectors! And so... THAT is the kind of amazing response I am witnessing! Thank You!
