No luck at the old house

When I got off work Friday I grabbed my ACE and headed for the old home site with high hopes. When I got there I found the place in a total wreck, the grass was knee high and I had very little ground that was huntable. I did manage to find a few coins but nothing old. I plan on going back there but I will be taking a lawnmower next time.

:usaflag:Now that's determination...ha-ha.! I have learned in the short time I have been detecting, to go into a place with low expectations. That way..if I find anything at all..it was a good day.

Better luck next time!:wiggle:Happy Hunting!:)

Slow down and think about what the land owner might be doing on the land. He might be get ready cut the weeds down himself.
Once I was searching a old house site. Just as I was getting started. Two guys show up out of no where and started to cut the grass!
The land owner sent them over to help me out with my search. Kinda of a nice guy. Huh? I did have a photo of them cutting the grass that day. If, I can find that pic. I ll post it.
Go ahead and cut weeds down for your hunt. I bet you will always be welcome back. Heck, you might even marry his daughter too. LOL
Keep after it and don't give up. I can almost feel the silver in the ground from here! :detecting:
