Night hunt with the Compadre 7” coil

It was 60 degrees Fahrenheit tonight and I had a surprise from the wife. She said why dont you go out detecting for a couple of hours tonight. I have not been out on a night hunt since cold weather hit. I only had two hours to detect and that is only if the rain held for a while and the temps stayed up. I decided on the 7” coil Compadre due to its simplicity and accuracy on targets. It did not disappoint. I went to a park I hunt frequently but I have not hit this area of the park with the 7” coil Compadre. I kept getting good signals. I dug so many targets and most of them were coins. I dug very little trash in that first area. All the coins had been there a while. I decided to see if I could use the thumbing trick to dig nickels. It worked flawlessly. I dug down on my first target I used it on and out popped a nickel. Man I love the Ed-180 discrimination Tesoro put into their detectors. It is amazingly quiet and then you hit a target and whamm-o, your detector comes to life and you dig and out pops your target. These detectors are just so much fun to use. I lost count after a while of all the coins I dug up. It was like having a new hunting spot. I have found whenever you get a new detector, a new coil or even change the frequency on detectors with multiple frequencies options it is like you have found a new a new place to hunt even though the area has been pounded multiple times. I am loving this nice weather and the nice temps. This is quite uncharacteristic of the weather in Virginia for this time of year. We have cold temps on the horizon so I am going to try to detect as much as possible for the next few days. Good luck and HH.
