Nickels?

My numbers for nickels are 12 12 solid.Just got done counting this years total 42.
BUT........how many are Buff's and V nickels?

Last two V nickels I dug within the last week were way off the charts.....was was a SOLID 01-11 from all directions, showed 7-8" deep and I pretty much figured it was a nickel. I was correct.
And the last one I dug a few days ago was bouncing from 01-11 to 04-11 and it too was a solid low tone. Again I assumed it was a nickel. Another V popped out at 8"

I tell you, people who are ONLY digging 12-12 and 12-13 etc.....are MISSING deeper, and OLDER nickels.

im finally starting to find some decent nickels. i think im finally getting my ears tunes to their sound. i found two buffaloes and one V nickel in the last two weeks. those were the first non-jefferson nickels ive found with the etrac and ive had it for almost a year. i notice that i dont look at my screen unless i hear a good sound first. the nickel sound has to sink in to my brain as being a good sound, they cant all be silvers. the nubers are hovering around 12-12 but they are never that perfect. i dont recall them being too far off though. from 12-12 to 12-14 or so.. they had some depth to them as well.

I agree with goes4ever. My last few really deep V nickels have rang some odd numbers, even 03/03 on a couple. The one thing I notice is that you will get the correct reading of a nickel once in a while if you move around the target for a while. Nickels just sound different than tabs and can slaw.
