Nice silver surprises at a "new" park

I decided to take a drive and try a "new to me" park. It was created in the 1920's and clearly has been picked over extremely well. However, as the saying goes, no one ever gets it all. Over the course of two days I spent a little over 10 hours in this one section of the park. Before arriving on day one, I was reviewing old photos and saw this sidewalk calling my name. Upon arriving, I made a bee line for the sidewalk. 10 minutes into my hunt I recovered my first mercury dime. I also found and not pictured, 32 wheat pennies. The oldest dating back to 1914. Hunting was slow but in the end I recovered 5 silver coins as well as plenty of clad. I also found a very neat ornate bracket of sorts. If anyone has a clue to what it could of been used for, please chime in. Thanks for looking.

I always call it hard work to find all that... but we all know time goes by so fast while detecting... sometimes it seems like a half hour and BOOM you have been hunting for 2 hours! great recoveries! I miss hunting old "hunted out " parks with tons of wheats and a few silvers... all the old parks here in upstate SC have been "updated and dozed" when I was in WNY I had a few 100 year old parks that were always giving! again congrats on the time you had with the coil to the soil!

There has to be an area that has been overlooked or possibly “rushed through” by others. That’s my outlook and hope when I get to a “new to me” park. I don’t believe I move as fast as others ( I hunt / scan very slowly ) and I methodically ( the best I can) hit an area before moving to a new area. Keep the faith your turn is coming. - Jim

Nice finds Jim I always head for the sidewalks I've found quite a few silver halves along them it amazes me they were missed but it always seem there are a lot of nails around them probably from the old forms used when poured?

Great hunt ELP.. I would say the ornamental brass piece is just a trim plate for an old door knob..judging by the style I would guess Victorian era 1890s...having grown up as a paperboy in a very old town I’ve had the pleasure of knocking on many old doors have seen many similar types..
