I know this has been discussed before but I was using the CZ that took 12 AA batteries..CZ3D is on the way and would like to know what rechargeable nine volts you use and how they perform. Hate to beat a dead horse to death but perhaps we will all learn a bit...Radio shack seems high on theirs and no small battery charger for two nine volts...Input appreciated..

Nicads and CZ's

Dan when I had my CZ 70 Pro I used the top line Radio Shack metal nickel 150 mah rechargeables and some Nexcell 160 mah batterys and had great luck with them. Now I plan to use them in my new Coin Strike. They do not have a memory like the Nicad, they last longer you can charge them at any point. You do not have to run them all the way down like a Nicad.
If you go with the Metal Nickel the first charge you will get less time out of them after that they will do real well.
I got the slow charger and it takes about 9 to 10 hrs to charge a 150 mah battery and about 13 to 14 hrs for a 160 mah battery. The higher the mah rating on the battery the longer it will last under full draw or usage and they will take a little longer to charge.
Also with a slow charger they will last longer and get a better over all charge, fast chargers are good for time but not as good on the battery from what I understand. Also the Metal Nickels will cost a little more.

Dan I forgot heres a great place to get good quality Metal Nickel batteries and chargers for 9 volts and all other types of batteries.Good prices and fast shipping, I got a 9V charger and some good quality high mah rated batteries from them.

Got your message...here's the place you asked about where I had gotten mine before. I used to use the Plainview 9 volts which worked extremely well for me, though some here had some complaints about them. This is a link to what is currently available and I think I would go with the 3rd ones down, the iPower 220 mAh "True 9.6 volt". They would seem to blow away the Radio Shack batteries for capacity and durability. If you click on the "More info" link for that model there are embedded links for the proper chargers. Yes, the initial outlay is a little painful but they very quickly pay for themselves with the cost of Alkaline 9 volts being what it is.

I have 6 batteries. 4 IPowerUS 220 mah batts and 2 Nexcell 200mah batts. They no longer make the Plainviews. The IPowerUS batts give me about 5 hrs per charge. The Nexcells go about 7 hrs per charge. I have an IPowerUs smart charger. I listen to all the tones and I use the pinpoint a lot. More disc and less pinpointing will increase battery life. Don't buy the IPowerUS 260mah batts. They had problems with them and are replacing them with the 220's. I got mine replaced. I highly recommend the investment. The 3D only gets about 17 hrs on Duracells so it won't take too long for the Nimh's to pay for themselves. The Nimh batts also don't develop a "memory" like the nicads so you don't have to drain them everytime.
