Hi,
I'm new to the beach and water hunting forum. I've been doing some winter hunting (first time ever) at the beach. I was wondering if there is anyone near Hampton Beach that goes there and how the hunting might be. I'm about an hour away from Hampton, Sailsbury and York ME. I'd like to go sometime and maybe even hook up with some other hardy New England winter hunters <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Hampton, Salisbury, Plum Island are best bets for consistant finds. Hunt the slope about one-third up from the bottom and look for patches of coins. Stay away from the soft sand and look for spots that are darker and have been cut down deeper than the surrounding area. Don't bother with the flat area exposed by low tide - rarely will you find anything more than buried lobster traps out there. You'll only find clad unless there's a good offshore storm that works the beach for two high tides, then the silver coins will show. Since you're an hour away, plan to get there about 3 hours after high, that way you'll have maximum time to hunt.
 
crazy(me) few that hunt the beaches of the N.E in winter?Its a great area to hunt in the winter never know what you'll find.Lots of history/shipwrecks around here too! I hunt mainly salisbury and plum in winter look for a fat guy in agreen ford say hi! hh GB
 
Found that nice ring and then heard it was sanding in from the last storm so I have not been out again.</CENTER>
