NEWER model x-terra

I would have to think that is just that....A RUMOR. I cannot imagine them coming out with a newer model when they just introduced the 30 and the 50. If I might ask...Where did you hear this?

On the end of the box that my x-terra 50 came in there are 3 check boxes. x-terra 30, x-terra 50 and x-terra 70.

Well lets think, What would the X70 have that the 50 does'nt. Mmmm... yes a switch to either silent hunt or threshold hunt... Now that would be WORTH IT!

:)

Assuming an X-Terra 70 would be a higher priced unit, this seems odd to me that they would release it after the lower priced detectors.

Seems like it makes more sense to release the top unit first, then release lower cost alternatives for the buyers who couldn't quite afford the top one.

If they release an XTerra 70 now I can see how some X50 buyers might be ticked off because they would have bought the X70 if it had been available but now can't afford to buy both.

Fisher did the same thing. They released the ID Excel first and then the higher priced ID Edge later.

Seems backwards to me.

It'll have 36 notch selections, a software port for future upgrades, 5 pattern modes, 2 all metal modes with one having an adjustable full time threshold, auto tracking that can be locked, a built in rechargeable battery set-up that includes a solar panel that actually helps to keep the batteries peaked while hunting all day. And maybe a back light for night hunting.
Hey, we can all have wishful dreams

I think they did the smart thing. They gave us a choice in price points at initial release to appease the price and performance shoppers. Then by following it up with the top of the series line later, there will be A LOT of folks that bought 30's and particularly 50's that will shell out the bucks for the 70 when it's available. If all three or just the 70 was released initially, there would be significantly less people buying 2 or even all three of the X-Terra's.

I've talked with several dealers and they claim the sales have been very good so far. Ronnie Duggers last order was for fifty 30's and 50's mixed and is getting very good reviews from his cutomer base.

I would be one of those that would be very ticked off. if that happens I would probably sell my XT50 and be done with minelab. John

I have a 50 and hope they do come out with another upgraded model. I will buy it also. Thing have a tendancy to improve as time passes. There was the excell. now edge.what next,, nothing. dont think so..they are already talking about the teknetic T-3......... hope they come out with new models every month.......we all have a choice.....buy or keep what we have..... Please dont be done with minelab????????HH

Hi John,

I'm exactly the opposite. I like new models, and I hope Minelab held back on the X-Terra 70 just so they could see what people thought was lacking or could be improved on the two current models. Then put those features in the newer model. If I like what the new model offers I'll sure get one. If it offers no extra functionality I need, I will not. People that have an X-Terra 30 do not automatically need an X-Trra 50, and not everyone that has an X-Terra 50 will need an X-Terra 70.

The last thing I want is for manufacturers to stop making better units just because I got one!
