Newbie Tips for Ace 250 User Please :-)

Really really simple? Put it in Jewelry mode and listen, ignore the display. Low sound junk, high sound good. That's about as basic as I can put it for you, until you have more time in and learn the variables. You will laugh later at how simplistic this answer is. It took me until the fall of my first season to get really tight with it.
 
I picked a penny 8" in wet salt water sand last week. With the 6" x 9" coil. I would NOT call that normal though. Normal is down to 6" in the wet salt water sand and 12" in the dry. I don't have anyplace local around here that is worth searching inland so I cannot tell you about searching the dirt, only the sand.
