New XP Deus means no site hunted out

Well-known member
Hello fellow diggers-

I have never been so excited about a detector then the XP Deus. Little history here. I purchased the XP Deus February 2019 with HFC, however I didn’t start using it till Oct 2019- as I have been a Equinox 800 user.
But since using the machine exclusively for 6 months under my brother now I have recovered more civil war relics and period coins in the past 6 months at 2 of my spots than the last 2 years with the Nox800.
Last week I dug 4 CW buttons one Calvary button plus 3 period coins that we have pounded over the past 6 years with other machines. Just curious to others’ results as well. Some of my recoveries last 3 weekends out digging.

Those are terrific finds that you have shown keep them coming.

I hunt the Deus and the Equinox all the time and always carry both with me to the hunt sites.
I lean towards the Deus on sites that have intense iron and if a site were to have modern trash mixed in I would favor the Nox. If you were going to the beach then the Nox is by far the machine to have in your hands of the two. Other than these listed reasons the two machines are very close in performance . I don't see that one is deeper than the other. Both of these machines are very fast compared to other machines that are in common use right now. Speed is very important. It doesn't matter if you're at an old cellar hole or a local park. The ability to deal with adjacent targets is one of the keys to success and that is accomplished with Recovery or Reactivity speed. You will put more targets in your pouch with a modern machine. Get out there

As a beach hunter one would think I’d prefer my Nox. Not the case though. I love using my XP Deus with the X/Y screen.
Found a $1700. (Retail) Tiffany & Co. Platinum ring with my Deus using the 9” round coil.

In the dry sand the two machines are equals. But in the wet sand or the presence of black sand or salt water there’s no contest.
