After listening to the etrac and from what its doing....it looks to be a defective control and/or coil. In master reset, it only sounds off in one tone...even after double checking to make sure it was in multi-tone. Not deep either. ID numbers not consistant and/or way off of what they should be, even on silver surface coins. Never seen an etac do this before, but anything is possible. Hopefully, factory will solve the problem.

OK , so my new , used etrac is going to minelab for repair, well at least now i know , thank you helping me

No problem...if my etrac acted like yours....I would have put it out of its misery.....Im glad we figured it out.....Soon you will be finding lots of good stuff. Lets hear how well it works when you get it back from Minelab.

Ok, so the stock minelab coin program will barely give me any readings, and at that they are eratic and all over the place, coins at a depth of 3 inches are showing 12 inches and the ferrous and conductive readings are not the same as what i am seeing on you tube. so i have been trying to download to my pc and upload into the etrac, with no luck , Adobe wont open the program , so my next question is, is there a way to upload into the etrac straight from the exchange? i need a better starting point , or maybe a little kick in the rear, im a hands on kind of guy but for now this machine has me stumped, i appreciate any and all input, and i thank you in advance.

Never heard of 3 inch coins reading 12" before so you may have a faulty coil or machine. Is there anyone local that you can spend a few hours with to take a look at it?
