New to the Deus

Okay, I decided to give this detector a try. Seems easy enough to setup after watching numerous videos. Just a few questions though...in the factory programs, in the book it says #6 is the "relic" mode but on the remote it comes up as "Deep". Same thing in the #9 "Basic2" mode. Comes up as "Hot". The other programs are as stated in the book. I got the Deus in a trade and it works just fine. Can the factory programs be renamed other than when creating personal programs? It does have the 5.2 update. Any info on this is appreciated. UPDATE!! I have it under control. Thanks for reading though

Sounds like you have a version 5.2 Deus and a version 2 or version 3 manual. You might want to check the top right hand or the manual's cover. The 5.2 manual is easy to access online.

Thanks for the reply. The manual is 3.0. I checked out another video from a local relic hunter and installed his settings and noticed the one he was using was the "Deep"(relic) program and I checked out the 5.2 manual. It has the Deep & Hot programs. It's all good now.

Update to V5.21

The ten factory programs cannot be renamed. You can change the parameters but those changes will not be saved when you turn off the machine.

Yeah, it had me a bit confused at first but realized it had everything to do with the update. Thanks

Factory programs can’t be renamed. They stay in their slots. You can make changes to them after Deus turn on. And run detector. You turn detector off the settings you put in go bye bye.
So what to do?
Create your own program and name and save it. When you turn on Deus your settings you had in your program when you saved will be there for you to use. You can alter settings of your saved program and detect. When you turn deus off your saveed program will revert to settings you installed when you saved. So when you power back up you be back to square one of your saved slotted program.
Remember this here. Very important.
It does depend on which factory program you choose to save a program.
Why?
Realize you have all the settings adjustments in all factory slotted my programs, beware the filters used in facrory slotted programs can be different.
So if you make a program using deep factory program and save. Good chance it will be a deeper program vs say using another factory slotted program to use to make your eventually saved program.
