New Tesoro Mojave is here!

I agree AJ. And I'm very curious for someone to put the two head to head.

First reports indicate mucho better depth than Compadre...
Over the 8" compadre? That's impressive.

Yes. Not really much difference in coil diameter between the new 7" and 8" donut, but ability to run the more negative (low) GB setting, combined with being able to crank up sensitivity, both equate to better depth than Compadre offers. Mojave is looking to me, like the perfect totlot and park detector. First finds report that I've seen come from tabman/beephead. He's already doing well with it.

No mas Church of the Compadre????

Just popped into my head. You might be able to mod the Mojave ground balance toggle switch to a rotational mult-turn pot.

Wouldn't that be the coolest thing. It would have been just a matter of time before some one starts to tinker.

But, may not be as easy as it sounds if the resistors that control the switching are very tiny SMT parts a human can't desolder.................don't do it.

Just getting folks thinking....LOL On how to improve the Mojave. Not that you have to.....

But, now this does leave the Mojave circuit board being used on future models that Tesoro can add manual GB, threshold etc...I don't know

How about a hi-lo switch on the Deleon? Sounds like a simple enough new model. Call it the Deleon 2.

Seeing your converting to digital for TID, how bout auto ground tracking ?

I was thinking the same Sven,

And if no GB knob can be added, a series of piggyback resistors can change the GB settings yet the user can go back to either one of two stock presets with flilping the additional switch.

One needs to determine the type of mineralztion they have for their area to apply the correct value resistor, then with a second toggle switch apply this piggy back resistor or resistors if a forth GB setting is needed.

I would add two more resistors, or at least one more if my area needs this type of mod. And again, only if the unit needs it. Most users the Mojave should be fine, but those with different types of mineralztion a mod may be better suited for their area.

Only if the Mojave needs it, hopefully have it this week. Got word from my dealer, delay with shipment.
